Fred Showker's 60 Second Windows... since 1990

So many people wrote with this question I decided to post these answers here. I realize that for just about every email client there's a different instruction. The links below will prove helpful.

Turning off html in Outlook

Choosing "Plain Text" sends your email as just that: plain typed text with no enhancements.
.
For example, if you highlight some text and make it bold, the bold attribute will not be sent in plain text mode. Outlook 2000.
.
In Outlook Express, you can tell the address book to send mail to that address as plain text.
When you look at the properties of the address entry, there is a box at the bottom of the window that says send mail as plain text. This way, you don't have to send all of your e-mail as plain text.

Tools> Options> click on the send tab, at the bottom the "Mail Sending Format" section .

For Outlook Express/Windows platform under the Tools menu: Tools > Options... > Send tab there is a section titled Mail Sending Format.
Click one of two radio buttons: Plain Text or HTML.
